Craft Tour
The Newbridge Silverware heritage story is the story of a town, its artisans and a newly independent Ireland.
As you explore the heritage you discover the history behind each piece. From the pressing and stamping machines that were used for over a century, to the ultra-modern water jet cutting machines, embracing the latest technology, while celebrating techniques that stood the test of time.
Some of the techniques used required a ten-year apprenticeship, others were developed in house, in the factory, by the expert craftspeople of Newbridge Silverware. Your visit will give an added shine to any Newbridge Silverware you bring home or give as gifts.
our story
How it all began
Newbridge Silverware was established in 1934 as a cooperative venture to provide employment for the people of Newbridge and the surrounding area. With the help of the many talented craftspeople in the area, the company made silver cutlery which was sold around the world.
