Where it all began

Welcome to The Silver Restaurant, where we hope you will enjoy our fine locally produced food and beverages. Our aim is to provide you with the very best of Irish hospitality and a warm welcome.

My name is Dominic Doyle and I have a burning passion for not only the best ingredients and fine eating but for the essence of what it means to run a family business. When D.B. Doyle, my Grandfather, first set his shoulder to the wheel as a young man in Kildare, his legacy as a Newbridge stalwart and nationally respected business owner was in the not-too-distant future.

A very driven and successful start to his career gave him an acute sense of an opportunity to develop a business and when he took the reins at our family butchers our family food journey began.

My grandfather Dominic had innovation in his blood and alongside running an extremely successful family butchers where he set up Ireland’s very first delicatessen, he decided to move into Newbridge cutlery and transform it into an internationally renowned company. We are proud to still call this place home.

Living heritage is passed down through the craftsmen and women who gave a life’s service to my grandfather’s company and one which I as an individual wish to embrace through a constant passion for the best food and experience. For decades my father William has combined a fascination with Irish craftsmanship with a keen eye for the latest innovations and has been a standard bearer for all that is best in Irish craft and people.

I hope now to take on that mantle and rejuvenate my grandfather’s passion for the best of Irish artisan foods. We accept only the best ingredients here in The Silver Restaurant and great care is given to the preparation and presentation of our in-house food. Our identity is built on standards laid down through five generations of quality, experimentation, and innovation and one which I fully intend on honouring. So once again, a warm welcome and above all enjoy, Dominic Doyle.
