From 22 July until Christmas, Newbridge Silverware’s Museum of Style Icons will host an exclusive exhibition featuring never-before-seen pieces from the private collection of Dublin-based collector Janette Flood. Celebrating the groundbreaking work of 1960s fashion icon Mary Quant, renowned for inventing the mini skirt and hot pants, this marks the first time in Ireland that such a collection of Quant originals will be displayed, alongside iconic garments once worn by style legends like Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn. Curated over many years by Flood, a passionate admirer of Quant’s legacy, this five-month exhibition offers a final chance to view these treasured items before they pass on to new custodians. This is a rare fashion moment not to be missed – only at the Museum of Style Icons.

Our Story

How it all began

It all started with one dress. A short black dress designed by Givenchy and worn by Audrey Hepburn in the movie Charade (1963). Today The Museum of Style Icons houses one of the world’s most important couture collections.

Behind the scenes

The Museum of Style Icons is curated by passionate experts. Individuals who truly love the garments they care for and the stories they represent. Throughout the year they oversee the storage and display of the collection, a process which includes managing the levels of light, heat and humidity, both in the display cases and the storage areas. We see it as our responsibility to safeguard this collection for the next generation.

What a treat! The museum of styles was a complete surprise with an amazing exhibition of Diana princess of Wales outfits on show for only a month & a year long display of Irish film outfits…not to mention their permanent display of costumes from the queen & Audrey Hepburn and it was free. But by far the best part was the tour of the factory. How incredible and what a history all expertly talked through by Robert…a fantastic ambassador & very knowledgeable long standing member of the team. So insightful into the amazing number of stages each of their pieces of cutlery, Jewellery & Christmas decorations pass through to completion. A totally wonderful experience.
