Question:  What put the “Posh” in the name Posh Spice, AKA Victoria Beckham.

Answer:  Her father would drive her to school in his “Posh” Rolls Royce!

Born on April 17th 1974 in Essex to Jacqueline Adams, a hairdresser, and Anthony Adams, an electronics engineer. Her family’s wealth was obvious even in her school days. Instead of using a backpack to carry her books she used a Gucci bag!

She met David Beckham in 1994 when he was the star football player with Manchester United. They married on July 4th 1999, four months after the birth of their first child, Brooklyn.

Their lavish wedding took place in Luttrellstown Castle, Castleknock, County Dublin. Such was the extravagant event that the bride and groom were seen sitting on golden thrones during the ceremony. The wedding is reputed to have cost £500,000.

Victoria was a member of the world- famous girl band, the Spice Girls. Her stage name  -  Posh Spice!

Having left her show business career behind her, in 2008 she turned her attention to fashion designing under the name Victoria Beckham. The business has grown from strength to strength. Among her famous clients are Beyonce and Cameron Diaz. Her nett worth is estimated to be $450m.

One of the most stunning dresses worn by Victoria Beckham was a full- length lime green chiffon creation with a thigh high slit and diamante trim, designed by Italian designer Roberto Cavalli. The dress was worn to a pre- 2006 World Cup party held at her home in Sawbridgeworth, which was known as “Beckingham Palace”.

This dress is now owned by the Museum of Style Icons, Newbridge Silverware, Newbridge, Co. Kildare.
